This is a series of eight webpages that explain the key aspects of the Tax Relief Incentive Program. After going through these pages you will understand the basics of how you can take action to greatly reduce your income tax burden.
Here are the topics I am going to cover in this series:
- The benefits to you [That's this email.]
- Who you help; our charities and their clients
- This program is not too good to be true
- The steps you take to get into the program
- Why you can and should reduce your income tax
- The elephant in the room: CRA and the law
- The support you will receive
- My guarantees to you
Okay, let’s get going. First up, how will you benefit by being a part of this program?
In short, it means money in your pocket after you do this year’s tax return next spring. One of three things might happen:
- You get a large refund because you had income tax deducted each pay cheque (for wage-earning and salaried employees).
- You don’t have to write that big cheque to the taxman in the spring because you had no tax deducted (for commissioned salespeople).
- You don’t have to pay tax on those capital gains you will earn this year from profitable sales of property (for stock traders, real estate sellers, etc.).
Could you do me a favour? Please go and get your tax return from last year. Look at the amount on line 435. It’s the amount you were required to pay in federal and provincial income taxes. Big, right?
Now, imagine it equal to zero. Zip. Nada.
You can choose to do that. You have the power!
What’s the cost to you to make this happen?
Between a quarter and half of your tax payable, depending when you participate. (The cost of reducing your taxes gets higher month to month. So, donate as early in the year as you can!)
This program is all about donating badly needed AIDS drugs to sub-Saharan Africa. In the next webpage I will tell more about whom you are helping.
